The land that Herron-Morton Place is on was initially purchased to be used as fairgrounds for the Indiana State Fair. And later in the 20th century, the now well known elaborate Victorian homes began being built here. These homes were often inhabited by local politicians and business leaders, which led to the elite neighborhood vibe we know it as today.
