Lockerbie Square is a small residential & historic neighborhood of downtown Indianapolis. In fact, it’s one of the oldest intact neighborhoods in all of Indianapolis. Residents truly love this neighborhood of Indy, and it’s because it is filled with charm; cobblestone streets, trees lining both sides of the road, and beautifully maintained historic homes. You can find homes as small as quaint cottages, to million dollar mansions, all within this relatively small area, and it’s entirety is right in the middle of downtown.
The walkability of this neighborhood makes it great for getting to know your neighbors and for just enjoying the outdoors. If you enjoy history, then you could even stroll through this neighborhood and take yourself on a walking history tour, as many of the historic homes are marked as such outdoors. One unique & historic fact about this area of Indianapolis is that it was once called Germantown, as many of its residents were German immigrants.
